The Walker Youth Project opened in 1990 and is located in Walker, in the east end of Newcastle. We are open to young people aged 13-25, Monday to Friday.

We believe that all young people should have access to safe, friendly spaces where they can have fun, learn new skills, develop their own ideas and interests and seek support about issues affecting them. You'll often see our youth workers on the streets of Walker meeting young people, getting to know them and building up relationships.

All young people are welcome to our drop in sessions and can take part in activities including arts and crafts, fitness, outdoor activities, cooking, trips and residentials. Workers are also available to offer one to one support to individuals and can help with a range of issues including signposting to other relevant agencies.

Another service we offer is Bizibodis, a mentoring project for young people to support and encourage children to engage in outdoor play and to make small positive changes in their lifestyles.

Our youth workers provide support in the following areas.
